My name is Lahn Robbins and I am running for the position of Vice President of Communications for the Economics Student Association. I am currently enrolled in my second year, and am studying International Economics and Development.
I have experience with international volunteering to assist in the building of a school, and I have also had many opportunities where I managed festivals and community-based programs. All of these experiences have taught me the importance of working in a team, as well as stepping up to do your part as a member of said team. Having a love for getting involved and being a part of something is a reason why I am running this year, and also why I have been getting involved with the ESA for events such as 101 Week.
As Vice President of Communications for the ESA, I would like to ensure that any information regarding the ESA and its events are accessible for all, and that students are made aware of the resources that are available to them.
Having graduated from high school with my French Immersion Certificate, as well as received my Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF) certificate at the level B2, I will be able to communicate in both official languages of the university. This will allow for me to convey the messages that I wish to send more freely to all students.
I would also like to manage the growth of the UOttawa Econ social media accounts, which would help to ensure that all students were receiving information about upcoming events.
I’m an extremely motivated individual and will do my best to ensure that all students are updated and informed in regards to the ESA.
